...who thinks this NA sounds horrible?

And, conversely, that bloody NC sounds impeccable!

You know, im not one to piss on someones project (as long as the project isnt a LS swap) but my god do big V8s sound awful.. in my opinion, they are the single worse sounding motors out there (other than V-twins) and i just cant get behind them.. especially when i know first hand how well a rotary works in those cars..

To be fair that wasn't the best sounding exhaust for a 1UZ. Not to mention they are good for 200k+ ….. I know first hand.

Agreed. Never liked the sound of the 1UZ.

Also, that 1UZ is NOT A BIG V8. At all. It's a small V8. One of the smallest production V8s, actually.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaah, I came here to argue, but I actually don't like the sound of this V8 either. Though I am a big fan of others, I must agree with you on this one.

Have you actually driven either of these cars or just watched videos of them? I think the NA sounds great and the NC sounds like absolute shit.

these cars no, and im willing to reserve judgement until the day i get the opportunity to hear them in person.. but i have driven NCs in the past, and they sound good, and the race prepped one sounds great.. of course thats my opinion

it really is different strokes for different folks here.. i love the sound of a well tuned 4 cylinder and really dont like the sound of crossplane V8s, thats just my preference..

I DD an NA and have driven an NC a fair deal. In my opinion, the NA (1.6) sounds nice and raw and mechanical, while the NC sounds artificial and drone-like (in fact, the NC is one of those cars that gets engine noise pumped into the cabin).

Yea, i definitely prefer the NA ive driven, sound wise.. but that race prepped car sounded great!

(BTW, im just realizing now you might not have watched the video, the NA has a lexus 1uz v8 in it and the NC is a full race prepped car, it really screamed)

yea, i guess, but really this is just more big motor=> small car, cobra bullshit.. it hasnt been clever since the early 70s.. i like the Rb powered Miata and my uncle's shop's rotary miata (the 2nd video).. V8 swaps just never do it for me.. but i do give him props for not doing a LS, because that i really cant stand
